Q. How long does it take to get my portrait once I order it?
A. You should have your portrait within two and a half weeks . But should you need us to retouch or modify it, it could take a little longer. Beware of companies that promise a very quick turn around time. Some companies use a computerized ink jet method to speed up the process, then the final stages of the painting are actually painted to resemble a painting. You'll have to make your own decision about which companies use this method. (HINT) It takes longer than 5 or 6 days to produce a 100 % hand made oil painting.
Q. Do you do framing?
A. No we don't. We used to but the shipping companies kept damaging the frames so we had to stop. Plus, by the time you pay the extra shipping for the over size package and the cost of a frame, you can get it done cheaper at your local frame shop.
Q. Who paints your portraits?
A. We are a portrait service. We have a large group of artist that paint for us from around the world which we found through trial and error. They are master portrait painters all trained at major art institutions. We always inspect the paintings up close before we ship them to our customers . These artists are some of the best in the world.
Q. How will my order be shipped?
A. The safest way to ship a painting on canvas is to first cover the dry painting with a plastic film. Then, roll it up, put it in a strong protective tube and ship it. There is no way it can get damaged unless it is ran over by the shipping truck. We've never had that happen yet.
Q. How do you communicate with your artists?
A. We are in constant communication with our artists through the Internet by using webcams, chat programs, and by webphone programs. It's almost like we are working in the same studio.
Q. Why don't you just use a local artist?
A. In the past, only the wealthy could afford a hand painted portrait.
That's because a good local artist charges an arm and a leg to get a custom (gallery quality) portrait done. By using our artist , now anyone can afford a custom hand painted portrait, and they produce the same quality as a portrait costing thousands of dollars. We have completely satisfied hundreds of customers in the past. Everyone needs a painted portrait, not just the rich.
Q. What kind of guarantee do you have?
A. If by some means we cannot satisfy you, you will receive all your
money back. So far, we have never had to do this.
Q. Do you just paint people?
A. No. We can paint anything you send to us with amazing realism. Animals, autos, motorcycles, houses, boats, landscapes. We do not paint anything we consider pornographic.
Q. Is the free gift really free, or is there something I have to do to get it?
A. All you have to do is buy your portrait from us. The gift is totally free, no strings attached. Those paintings sell for around $150.00.
Anyway, greed and prosperity are like oil and water, they don't mix.
Q. Are your portraits a photo that has been painted to look like a painting?
A. No, Our portraits start out as a sketch. Then they are painted in layers until the last stage of the painting process is finished. This is all done with traditional brushes. No ink jets or computer animated contraptions are used.
Q. What kind of materials are used to paint your portraits?
A. We use high quality oil paints and canvases. Our portraits are painted on synthetic canvas which looks like the old cotton canvas but synthetic canvas will outlast the cloth because it resists mold and it will not rot.
